Who's Behind the Scenes?

Melissa is a trombonist, educator, and podcaster based in the Midlands of the UK.

​

Melissa, alongside being a freelance performer (on trombones and euphonium) teaches individual, group, and whole class brass lessons, individual piano lessons, and whole class curricular music lessons across Leicestershire and Warwickshire. She also has a full, and flourishing, private teaching studio.

​

She has been interviewed and featured discussing her varied career by the British Trombone Society and the International Women's Brass Conference (for whom she is also a careers mentor (2021)). Additionally she has featured discussing her career and mental health on podcasts including MusicHERSTORY, Things Musicians Don't Talk About, and Rising Stars Podcast. 

​

She is a graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (class of 2013) where she studied concurrently for her Bachelors of Music and LTCL in Instrumental Teaching.

 

Melissa currently lives in Leicestershire with her partner Phil and 2 dogs.
